Impersonation
As many are aware, there have been several people online impersonating me or falsely claiming ownership of my animals on various social media sites. I will list any that are brought to my attention here to warn the world.
How to spot an impersonator
If you are uncertain whether or not a site is fake or is actually owned by me, there are a number of things you can do to test its authenticity:
1. Contact me using the below contact form.
2. All of my animals' official sites promote each other. If the site in question does not promote this website (such as with www.UseYourClicker.com watermarks on newly shared/posted photos, or in their profile description), the page is a fake. As well, if the site in question is not promoted on this website, my animals' official blog, their official Flickr page, or in the description of their official YouTube videos, it is a fake.
3. If newly shared/uploaded photos have had watermarks cropped or blotted out, the site is a fake.
4. If newly shared/uploaded photos are never new; namely, they are old photos that have already been shared on this website, my animals' blog, their Flickr page, or are snapshots from their YouTube videos, the site is a fake.
5. (to reiterate #2) If the primary goal of the site in question seems to be self-promotion, it is most definitely a fake.
6. If the writing style of the person does not reflect mine, the site is a fake.
7. If the person appears or claims to live in a country other than Canada (or writes using the grammar and spelling of other English-speaking countries), the site is a fake.
8. If the person lists excuses when challenged (such as claiming their camera is broken when asked to produce new images of my animals), the site is a fake.
9. If the site in question is only promoting one of my animals (such as just Nana) rather than all of them, you can be absolutely certain that it is a fake. All of my animals' official sites promote ALL of my animals.
10. Challenge them. Ask them to produce new photos of my animals (which they will not be able to do). Ask them a question that only I can answer, wait for them to respond, then subsequently ask me the same question using the below form (please include a link to their response to your question). If the answers do not match, the site is a fake.
