Introduction to Cat Training
Contrary to what many people think, cats can be trained to perform many of the tricks that dogs are often seen doing. Cats are very intelligent animals and most understand what you are teaching them extremely quickly. They can sometimes catch on to what you are teaching them faster than dogs, depending on the breed and personality of the dog and cat. Most tricks can be taught using the same methods used to teach dogs, but other tricks must be taught differently. Since cats and dogs do not have the same instincts, cats will sometimes react differently than a dog would under the same circumstances. All training requires patience and a positive attitude on your part, and training sessions must be kept short and as fun, upbeat, exciting, and as positive as possible for you and your cat.
